Project List

Raspberry Pi

Blinkit

1.5 hrs

Blinkt! offers eight APA102 pixels in the smallest (and cheapest) form factor to plug straight onto your Raspberry Pi.

Each pixel on Blinkt! is individually controllable and dimmable allowing you to create gradients, pulsing effects, or just flash them on and off like crazy. The data and clock lines are connected to GPIO #23 and #24 respectively

Flying Saucer Animation

1.5 hrs

In this exercise we make the image respond to input; The keypad will work nicely for this. We'll have the arrow keys move the flying saucer up down, left or right

Key board manipulation and control

1.5 hrs

In this exercise we make the image respond to input; The keypad will work nicely for this. We'll have the arrow keys move the flying saucer up down, left or right

Other IoT Devices

Arduno, Google Sound Kit, custom Robots, Sensor kits stem skills

Bouncing balls

1.5 hrs

Simulate the bouncing of two balls under the influence of gravity and air resistance. Lines that trace the paths of the balls are included as a kind of ‘black-box’ recorder so we can see where the balls have been.

Collisions with the walls are detected. Collisions between the balls are not detected  –  this will be done in another example.

LED Light

3 hrs

Arduino is equipped with many different input and output connectors, which we will refer to as IO Pins. Right now, we want to use a digital IO pin to instruct the LED light to come on. Because we are also using the onboard LED light, the appropriate IO pin has already been decided for us by the Arduino makers. It is pin 13, which, by design, has been attached to the onboard LED light.

Light Goggle

6 hrs

Trinket may be small, but do not be fooled by its size! It's a tiny microcontroller board, built around the Atmel ATtiny85, a little chip with a lot of power. We wanted to design a microcontroller board that was small enough to fit into any project, and low cost enough to use without hesitation. Perfect for when you don't want to give up your expensive dev-board and you aren't willing to take apart the project you worked so hard to design. It's our lowest-cost arduino-IDE programmable board!

Google AIY Toolkit

6 hrs

Google AIY Projects brings do-it-yourself artificial intelligence to your maker projects. With this AIY Voice Kit from Google, you can build a standalone voice recognition system using the Google Assistant or add voice recognition and natural language processing to your Raspberry Pi based projects. The kit includes all of the components needed to assemble the basic kit that works with the Google Assistant SDK as well as on-device voice recognition with TensorFlow.

Scratch

3 hrs

SIMPLE ANIMATION USING THE RASPBERRY PI

In this lesson you will learn how to create simple animations using Scratch and Python. You are going to create

repeating patterns using iteration (loop) constructs. This activity will allow you to develop your programming skills, solve

problems and be creative.

Custom Robot - Broom

3 hrs

The 4M Brush Robot is a fun toy that teaches young minds about the science of robotics in a hands-on way.

• No special tools or knowledge required; the kit contains detailed instructions and all the necessary parts.

• Ideal for young science enthusiasts, especially those with an interest in robotics.

• Requires two AAA batteries (not included).

• Recommended for ages 8 years and up.

• Challenge your child's imagination with 4M toys and kits.

Custom robot - Tin Can

1.5 hrs

The 4M Tin Can Robot teaches the value of recycling by repurposing a used can into a fun and functional robot.

• No special tools or knowledge required; the kit contains detailed instructions and all the necessary parts.

• Just add a used soda pop can and let the fun begin.

• Use the kit to create a silly robot or a motorized monster, or a combination of the two.

• Requires one AA batteries (not included). Recommended for ages 8 years and up. Works well and long with Polaroid Batteries.
